What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy or hypnosis is a powerfully relaxing treatment which uses awareness altering techniques. In other words hypnosis enables you to go into a relaxed and trance like state. During this relaxed state the hypnotherapist works with you to help you work on the issues you want to resolve.
Hypnotherapy can help with a variety of problems such as:
- stress and anxiety
- phobias and fears such as fear of flying
- giving up smoking
- weight loss
- emotional problems and issues
- lack of self confidence
- emotional trauma
Hypnosis treatments are carried out by Franca Mongiardi an experienced hypnotherapist.
What happens during a treatment session?
At the start of the session you discuss and explore what it is you want to work on. Franca will explain what is involved at all stages of the session and there are plenty of opportunities for you to ask questions.
The treatment room is kept quiet to enable a relaxing and tranquil atmosphere which helps you to relax.
Are there any after effects?
The main after effects you experience are a feeling of relaxation.
What’s it like to be hypnotised?
You feel very relaxed. A lot of us experience trance like states more than we realise. For example watching a film. Have you ever become so absorbed by a film that you stopped noticing the time going by and before you knew it 2 hours had passed? Have you ever got so engrossed in a book that you haven’t noticed what is going on around you? These are trance like states which leave you feeling relaxed.
How many sessions will I need?
This will depend on the problem or issue you want to work on. This is discussed at the first session.
Is hypnosis right for me?
Franca is happy to discuss this with you and answer any questions before you make an appointment. Sometime hypnotherapy may not be appropriate and Franca is able to offer alternative treatments such as a “talking therapy” which does not involve hypnosis.
